Night Test
1.) Exposition: The exposition of the story starts when Moshe the Beadle is introduced. Moshe the Beadle was a Jew that lived in Sighet, Transylvania and he got captured by the Hungarian police. A few months later, Moshe the Beadle escapes the Hungarian police and returns to Sighet to warn everyone in the town of what had happened to him. When he tried to warn the townspeople, they did not believe him since all of the propaganda on the London radio were making them feel that everything was safe and the war would be over soon. Elie Wiesel, was a 12 year old boy that was very interested in his Jewish religion and faith for his age. Moshe the Beadle also had a strong connection with Elie, speaking with him about the revelations and mysteries of the cabbala, which Elie gave great interest to.

Rising Action: The rising action starts when the German officers come to Sighet. The German officers decided to wait until the Jewish Festival, Passover, to Seize them. After being seized, the Jews were deported to a camp called Bierkenau. In this camp, this was the last time he would see his mother and his sister Tzipora, as the men and women were separated. Right after, Elie, his father, and the other Jews were transported to a concentration camp called Auschwitz, where him and his father were on the whim of survival every day. One day, when the Jews were doing a prayer, Elie thought to himself that why should he praise and thank the lord for what he has done. After seeing children thrown in fire, and everyone being stripped down from themselves, he felt emotionally angry at God and his faith started to slowly slip away. The next day, the SS officers were calling out skilled workers and placed a Gypsy in charge. Elie’s father had asked the Gypsy where the restrooms were, but in exchange, a blow was dealt to him sending him across the floor, Elie had just stood there as if nothing happened and he seems to realize that he is changing and...
